Lodz is a really green city with about 40 parks. The oldest park, founded in 1840, is Źródliska Park. A few years ago, it was chosen as the most beautiful park in Poland in a competition organized by an American garden company. Visitors can also find a Palm Grove in the park, which has over 130-year-old trees!Another park worth visiting, Na Zdrowiu park. This huge park complex offers at least several ideas for a pleasant evening: a romantic sunset in the middle of blooming magnolias in the botanical garden, a dizzying slide on the largest water slide in Poland, Aquapark Fala, or a meeting with a tiger in the zoo.
In Klepacza Park you can sit in the shade of a sprawling monumental oak with a name that really suits Lodz – Fabrykant (Polish, factory owner). Julianowski Park delights with the beauty of the picturesque valley of the Sokołówka river and one of the oldest trees in łódź, an oak called Kosynier (in Polish, scythe for recruiting farmers). Poniatowski Park offers visitors the chance to try their luck on the bike path, while 1 Maja Park offers water bike rides on the famous Stefanski Lake.
The green space of Lodz has been recognized by the Bureau of International Exhibitions and thanks to this it is the organizer of the garden exhibition 2024. The main motive of the exhibition organized in Lodz is the development of the green areas of the city. Even the most forgotten green areas can be renovated, organized and restored. Pocket parks, theme park or learning trails are placed where possible. The result of the exhibition is the creation of the Central Park, which encompasses the areas that are now 3 Maja Park, Baden-Powell Park and the green stone at the Clinical Central Hospital of the Medical University of Lodz.
