Welcome Day of Erasmus+ students

On Monday, 30th of September 2025, we warmly welcomed our Erasmus+ Students, incoming for studies at the Medical University of Lodz for academic year 2025/2026. The Welcome Day took place at MUL Library at Muszyńskiego street 2 and was designed to help foreign students to acclimatize to their new academic environment. We started with a speech of our Departmental Erasmus Coordinator and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Studies in English – Prof. Sebastian Kłosek. After that, there was a short presentation about history of MUL. Students received information about the University’s structure, available courses and opportunities. Then, all Erasmus students supported by their Buddies attended the Polish language lesson which helped them to understand the language and the local culture. After the official part and short coffee break, all participants went for a short City tour with the final photo at Manufaktura. We truly believe that Welcome Day helped the incoming students to feel more comfortable during their first day at Medical University and thanks to all activities during the event they are now better integrated with their new Polish Buddies.

UMED Visiting Professor

On May 29, we had the honor of hosting Prof. Tamás Ághand invite those interested in rational management of the healthcare system to an open lecture as part of the UMED Visiting Professor program. Prof. Tamás Ágh is an outstanding expert in the field of pharmacoeconomics, combining the experience of a physician, economist and scientist. He specializes in the analysis of pharmacotherapy costs, health technology assessment, research on therapeutic adherence and the creation of health policies. In his lecture, he will present in an accessible way the most important practical tools and approaches enabling effective and evidence-based decision-making in health care – both at the clinical and systemic level.

Peter Marinkovich, MD, Director of the Clinic for Bullous Diseases and Professor of Dermatology from Stanford University School of Medicine. „International Communication and Negotiation (Asia, Africa)”

On March 4, 2025, a training session took place that covered a variety of topics, including correspondence, verifying the credibility of letter authors, and preparing agendas and presentations aimed at international audiences. The session also addressed the principles of negotiation with representatives from African and Asian countries, public speaking guidelines, and the importance of building trust within cultural contexts. The theoretical knowledge gained was further deepened through workshops focused on developing a visit plan and conversation strategies with representatives from medical universities in Japan, Nigeria, Thailand, and India.

„Cooperation Partnership”

On January 16, 2025, the MOLecoLAB at the Medical University of Lodz hosted a meeting in collaboration with the International Projects Department. The session was led by Magdalena Senator, M. A. , who oversees the ERASMUS+ InnHUB Łódź central projects. During the meeting, she addressed formal aspects related to the application for Action 2 of the Erasmus+ program, specifically the „Cooperation Partnership” initiative, highlighting key elements crucial for the application preparation. The discussion centered on cooperation partnerships, which are international projects aimed at developing, transferring, and implementing innovative practices while fostering collaboration, peer learning, and experience sharing at the European level. The primary objective of these projects is to modernize the university’s educational offerings, aligning them more closely with societal and economic needs, while enhancing the overall quality of education. The outcomes of such initiatives should be reusable, transferable, scalable, and, whenever feasible, possess a strong interdisciplinary character.

„Welcome Day” – welcoming students of Erasmus+

On Monday, September 30th, we welcomed our new Erasmus+ Students, incoming for studies at the Medical University of Lodz for academic year 2024/2025. This year we organized for them a special inauguration called Welcome Day. The symbolic celebration took place at MUL Library, at Muszyńskiego street 2 and was divided into parts. We started with a speech of our Institutional Coordinator, Prof. Jacek Rożniecki. Then, there was a short presentation about history of MUL and Polish language lesson for all participants. After the official part and short coffee break, all the Students were divided into 3 groups and supported by their Buddy’s went for the City-based Game. The final meeting point was in Manufaktura where the culmination of a successful day was a group photo.

Visit from Maharana Pratap Group of Institutions (MPGI), India

On March 21, 2024, the Medical University of Lodz had the honor of hosting a delegation from the Maharana Pratap Group of Institutions (MPGI) from Kanpur, India. Composition of the delegation, including Dr. Vikram Kumar Sahu- HOD Pharmacy Wing, Mr Gaurav Bhadauria – Joint Secretary, MPGI Group, MPGI; Ms Gauri Bhatnagar – Head Digital Marketing and Communications, MPGI.On behalf of the Medical University, this meeting was honored with the presence of: Prof. Monika Łukomska-Szymańska, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Science and Teaching Development, Prof. Elżbieta Budzisz, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the Department of Cosmetology and Head of the Department of Cosmetology, and Dr Anna Erkiert-Polguj from the Department of Cosmetology and Aesthetic Dermatology. During the meeting, both sides had the opportunity not only to present their universities and faculties, but also to explore potential opportunities for cooperation. These conversations opened new horizons for future initiatives, including developing academic exchange prospects for both staff and students. Another point of the meeting was a presentation of the laboratories of the Department and Department of Cosmetology, demonstrating the laboratory infrastructure used in the field of cosmetology. The meeting was held with the support of employees of the Welcome Center and the International Cooperation Department: Ms. Gracja Mecwaldowska-Domańska, Ms. Justyna Strumiłło and Ms. Katarzyna Everson.
